I am trying to render the beauty while excluding the volume using Light Path expressions.

Beauty is C.*
and volume is CV.*L

Is it possible to exclude the volume from the Beauty.

you may need to clarify a bit which volume paths you want to get rid of

for example:
C[^V].*Lis sort of inverse of your combined volume CV.*Lmeaning you will still see volume contribution in all other secondary paths of reflections refractions, diffuse, ...

while this:
C[^V]+Lshould actually give you Beauty without any paths that contain volume

and of course you can be more specific in your expressions
