SOP Import or SOP Create?

Just curious, since there are so many ways to accomplish things in Houdini, I was wondering what other folks do: Create your geometry in the Object context and import using a SOP Import or plop down a SOP Create and create your geometry inside. I've seen both methods used in various tutorials but was wondering about pros/cons for each approach. Cheers.

Hello,
On my usage I just use sop create for testing and I prefer sop import for all the rest.
This way I stay on Obj context for geometry creation for efficiency and productivity.
You have a better scene interaction on obj context because you can hide and show easily any part.
And even more if you need some solaris feedback (like display instancer objects or manually placed assets) you can simply use sop lop import node for this.
Also on a side note Intancer Lop node still bugged when try to work in as in obj context and sadly sidefx seems hasn't interested to make it work (Bug (ID# 123814) posted in 2022).
To push further I even read someone on this forum (don't remember who and which post sorry) that explain his also doing manual instancing inside obj context and just traduce automatically this to solaris by reading position orientation scaling.
I'm now also really thinking about this because lop stage node (and I even don't talk about layout node) aren't user friendly enough.
Hope that help a bit for your workflow.
