i was trying to move the camera along with my desired route through several meteorites, just like a space travel. yet i got a problem after i'v rendered out the image sequences, i found that the surface of meteorites changed randomly which was not what i'v expected, i need the surface and the shape of these meteorites to be static. i didn't model the shape of meteorites, instead, i used the displacement shader builder to build up its surface. can anyone tell me how to make the surface static in such case.
any of your advice will be appreciated, and sorry for my poor english.
thank you!
need help for rendering, hipnc file inclosed

You need to make your displacement shader work in object space instead of camera space (which it does by default) by using the transform or rest node.
In later builds of H11 the rest node was added to the mantra surface material.
EDIT: I see you didnt use the mantra surface material but the answer is still the same.

thanks for you help,
but still, i am not clear about how to make the displacement shader work in object space, could you please go into more details? or could you please just correct my hipnc file and upload it if possible?
anther question, do i have to use the mantra surface material as a must in this case?
thank you so much!

There's a “Stone Material” that comes with Houdini, unless you need painted details.
The same applies to that material too, even with “Rest Position node” it's set to World-Space by default, you will have to double-click into the stone material, find the rest position node & switch it to Texture or Object-Space.
Unless this was changed in the latest build, i know any build before .733 is still World-Space.
Good luck!
