Following what they've done the past few years I would agree with altbighead.
I'd bet on Early Access starting a month before SIGGRAPH ‘07 with a production/gold release sometime in Sept. ’07.
The last thing I want them to do is rush out a build before its ready. Having a new release with tons of new features which don't fully work is 10x worse than a delay. (That one chance for first impressions thing.)

totally agree….. Honestly i cant wait H9 for many reasons… but i'm confortable to wait for the exact same reasons

I seriously doubt either solaris and especially IRIX will ever make a re-appearance. IRIX=dead(despite how much some people loved it, etc.), and solaris simply never built up the market share in this business SESI had hoped.
At least Apple can argue market share actually went up in the last quarter for a change, no matter how small.
