Is Houdini 18 Backport The News for new version?

SideFX has a lot of us curious and wondering… there have been hints given that an announcement for a new version will be made in June. The only announcement we had seen was the 18 Backport which included some new features (although the need for fog in viewport still puzzles me lol). So is Houdini 18 Backport The News that we were supposed to wait for?
