Distribute Particle Fluid can't select object

I am referring to the H15 Masterclass | Distributed Simulations video.
Testing Flip's distributed simulations.
Unable to select an object from the shelf using Distribute Particle Fluid.
I have used two different computers of mine but could not solve the problem.

I know this may be a very simple question, but please answer.
