Hqueue Installation Problem

Hi Sidefx Team,

I have the following questions regarding the installation of the Hqueue Client.

1. First of all the recommended way to install Houdini software packages has no entry for 19.5 (py 3). It stops at version 19.0.783 py2 for the client, and 18.5.1104 for the server. Is there a reason why is there no entry for the most recent versions?

2. I tried installing the "manually" by downloading the recent production build and selecting the respected Hqueue Server + Client. The Server seems to be working but the Hqueue Client Installer is failing to create a windows service thus the client can not connect with the hqueue server. With the py2 19 version from the launcher, the service entry was there in the windows service entries, and also there was no problem for the client to connect to the server.

I would be very thankful if you could help install Hqueue as I loved using it in the past.

Thank you very much!

Hi, I have the same problem. Did you ever solve it?

Hi

if you use the installer and not the launcher
in the c:\HQueueClient\_windows.py file, modify:

def init(config):
# TODO: Test code.
#remote_path = "\\\\server\\shared folder"
#local_path = "I:"
#username = "hquser"
#password = "hqpass"
and restart the process hqclientd.bat

if you install the clients with the Houdini launcher, they strangely appear among the services and services/HQueueClients/Log On, enter the user data

it still works for me.
I hope I understand your problem correctly...
