Animate Ship Over Ocean Surface Oct. 9, 2013, 2:38 p.m.
I am trying to animate a ship moving through the waves. I am using the ocean solver and evaluation. I have a grid that moves in the x axis and it is being deformed by the ocean. I grab the normals from that grid and try to use them to get the transform values for the ship.
I get a rather exaggerated movement of the ship. I need to figure out how to reduce the roll & ptich. I am following an older tutorial. In the tutorial there is a CHOP network and in it they show to load the group and apply a filter to it. This does not seem to work. I can't seem to find where to dampen the movement of the ship.
I have attached my node view … not sure if that helps.
