Wedge Pyro Simulations One by One – Not All at the Same Time July 24, 2025, 8:49 a.m.
Hi, I need some help with wedging pyro simulations in Houdini.
I want to generate 30 variations of a pyro sim using the Labs File Cache node with a wedge setup. When I try 2 or 3 wedges, everything works fine. But when I try 10 or more, my RAM gets completely saturated.
It looks like all the wedges are starting at the same time, which overwhelms my system.
How can I force Houdini to cache the wedges one after the other (sequentially), instead of all at once?
Ideally, I'd like to process them one by one — or maybe two at a time — to avoid running out of memory.
Any advice or workaround would be really appreciated!

Hqueue on windows client en hqueue serveur on linux May 9, 2025, 2:46 p.m.
Hello,
I'm trying to run HQueue on two computers: the server is on Linux, and the client is on Windows. The .hip file is stored on a shared NAS.
However, the file paths are different between the two systems:
On Linux: //<IP_address>/folder/hipfile.hip
On Windows: Z:\folder\hipfile.hip
How can I configure HQueue to handle these different paths correctly?
Thanks in advance!
