I fixed it by getting rid of the Houdini folder(on my documents folder) and starting Houdini again so it creates a new one.

I encountered the same issue and resolved it using this method.

If you don't want to replace the entire Houdini folder, removing the file named “lopscenegraphdetails.json” from the Houdini folder and restarting Houdini resolved the issue for me.

Opening SceneGraphDetails will create a new lopscenegraphdetails.json file in the Houdini folder, but caution is advised as the effects of this action are unclear.
