This video will show how you can create a layered shader inside Houdini, using the Layer Mix VOP. We use the Shaderball asset and we apply a SurfaceModel material on it and then dive inside. We then plug in a carpaint shader to layer with the existing Surface Model material and use a checkered pattern as an alpha, to blend the 2 shaders together. Layer Mix VOPs can be used as many times as you want, to build additional layers!
