In this online course, the viewer will get familiar with Houdini’s Vellum workflows and some of its more useful tools, including the relatively new fluids, great for creating small-scale fluids and interaction with other types of dynamic objects. All this while creating a complete and very compelling shot, from concept to final render.

This course has been designed for 3D artists aiming to create visual effects using one of the most versatile tools in the Houdini arsenal, the Vellum solver. After viewing this course, artists will not only have a solid understanding on how to setup a Vellum simulation, making fluids interact with soft bodies, but also they will learn very useful modeling and procedural animation techniques and even be able to create and shaders to objects, create a lighting setup and render an image sequence using Karma, Houdini’s new rendering engine.

Main Takeaways:

- A good understanding of how to set up a Vellum simulation and make different types of surfaces like fluids and soft bodies interact.

- Start getting comfortable with modeling within Houdini

- Artists will be able to set up a Karma render, including shaders creation and lighting a 3D scene.
