The new RBD Car Fracture SOP and RBD Car Transform SOP, combined with the existing RBD Car Rig Tools in Houdini, make it quick and easy to set up a working car crash simulation. This example covers the full process: rigging and driving two cars, fracturing them using the new tools, and simulating collision destruction with the RBD Bullet Solver. It also shows how to deform the cars, wheels, and suspensions including some setups for dust and debris simulations along with TOP net and LOP net setups for procedural caching and rendering the sequence with different cameras. A small COP setup for some basic compositing is available as well.
