Hi !
I am experiencing systematic crashes when launching Houdini 20.5 on multiple Linux distributions (Fedora, PopOS, Ubuntu)
here is the error :

I managed to make it work on newest Rocky Linux after switching to X11. I thought it was because of Wayland but even after switching to X11 it still crashes.I then thought it was because of hybrid gpu configuration or something like that but I checked and i am using my Nvidia GPU
This problem occurs on both my laptop and workstation so i don't think it's an hardware issue. And I am pretty sure it's quite recent issue with new Linux versions (maybe new kernel ?)
I don't find anyone with that same problem after looking on the Internet.
Hope some have some ideas to fix it.
Systematic crashes on Linux on different hardware and distro

Thanks for your feedbacks and answers, my original post wasn't clear at all.
1) It works on Rocky Linux 9.5 no problem at all when i switch to X11
2) Yes there is an issue with some distro allowing to switch between GPUs (intel and nvidia) on my laptop and i managed to make it work after switching and making sure the system stayed on the nvidia GPU
Conlusion:
Everything is working now !
X11 + Nvidia works, Wayland or intagrated gpu doesn't
For those who have the same issue, in a terminal:
>prime-select query
>on-demand #means not nvidia
>sudo prime-select nvidia
>reboot
also after you reboot make sure you run Ubuntu xorg mode from login parameters
Sorry for the trouble. Have a good day!
