but how can the script work in Compiled Block?
It cannot. The compiled block runs as if it were a single node cook. Intermediate data cannot be accessed.

on switch node's help there is this script:this is very useful when the first node have errors.
but how can the script work in Compiled Block?

Hi
when rendering in karma, have you tried Treat Polygons as Subdivision Surface? it eats much memory, even added Dicing Camera.
so is it possible to optimize it?
or as i know the default rendering subdivide depth is 2,where to reduce it to 1?

maybe it's a funny problem, some times houdini may hang and i have not saved the file.is it possible to make a memory error or something to ask houdini save the file in tmp folder? both widows and linux.

Hi, I use “partition by range” to partition 20 wedge to 5,when I save the wedged geometry, it left only 5 geometry. how can I get all 20 wedge result?
the main things I want is: when the Top runs all the 20 task at the same time, may use to much memory, so I want them only run 5 tasks once. just like what “slots per work item” do.

Hi on centos i tried maya2016+h16.5 it works,but not work neighter maya2016+h17.5 nor maya2018+h16.5 or maya2018+h17.5,it tells me :
could not crate a Houdini Session.please edit the Back End preferences and reloat the plugin
but it failed after i tried every Backed End settings.and i dissabled all other plugins too.what else the problem is?

what a bad news,use deformation blur will take double time and more memory to generate the hair geometry!

hi
when i render hair,there is v attribute,if i choose hair generation as ‘use sop geometry’ there is motion blur.but if i switch to ‘generate geometry in mantra’ the motion blur is disappear.
is there anything i missed or it's a bug?

Hi,i saw Entagma introed some verlet colth solver,it's very fast. but i need one more feature
trong Bend Stiffness in finite cloth solver,to keep the rest shape more.can you inspirate me how it works? i want achieve it in vex.

when I baketexture I want the texture expand some pixels from uv border. i found two options(UDIM post proces , Addiditional pixels at border),but it didn't work,do you know what else should i do?

do you tried the distribute sim?if i sim a heavy fluid,i distribute it to 10 clients,will it 5-10 times faster than sim in one computer?
