My apprenticehoudini is refusing to install a new non-commercial license since this morning boot. Can this be caused by the traffic sidefx is sure receiving currently? Should I wait or dig deep in the forums and my system?
This is a screencapture of the error. I tried to open an hip file this morning and Houdini tried to get a new license. could it be it mixed something up, trying to open an file while beeing unauthorized - thinking it is an Master version that will be downgraded for this session?
still the same. I could restart my router - maybe my ip got banned?
I'd rather not wrestle with the admin tool for now.
(back in 2005 when I first tried to use Houdini I clicked the admin button instead of the non-commercial (advanced as I was ) wrecked everything and didn't touch Houdini for almost two years …)
With Houdini 9 being released as a Open Beta in 5 days I would assume SESI has changed the licensing a bit. I suspect all these problems with getting Apprentice licenses are related to that.

I just downloaded 8.1 and it installed and validated just fine. :?
