UDIM uv layout ?

I have UDIM attribute 1001 but the uv layout lays it down on 1002? Basically everything is shifted by 1.. ? it seems to get 1000 as 1001. ?

what i want is:

Seems like a difference in the interpretation of the convention.
Could be that they start counting from 0 instead of 1?

You can probably just subtract 1 to get your desired result, right?

If its a matter of shifting everything around, you could use a UV transform SOP.

- I have no idea whether an established convention is being broken here and whether this should be seen as a bug because of it.

its not about the geo, its about houdini handling the udim attribute wrong. its shifted and starts at 1000 instead of 1001.

just drop a grid add a uv texture and attribute udim with 1001,
then do a uv layout with udim and it will be put on 1002.

put 1000 in it and it will be 1001.

I am having a weird behavior and I am trying to find out if I am doing something wrong.
It seems to me that the placement is inverted in related from what I see on screen and the uv viewer I have to negate the texture scale and offset it back to make it right, did anyone experienced this behavior?

I am using H15.5.565.
