Hey there,

I want to upgrade from my old workstation to a new portable computer.

I want to work comfortably on:

Houdini (motion design, so a bit of everything but mostly SOP/DOP)
Touch Designer (procedural / generative art / )
Maya (whole pipeline from modeling to rendering, CPU or GPU)
Substance Designer / Painter
Processing
Nuke
Resolve

(on windows 10)

I also want to be able to play futur games with high graphical options, like Cyberpunk 2077.

Budget: 1000 - 2000€

♦ I don't care about weight, need at least 15" (bigger is better in my case). Need a solid and robust build (I'm really clumsy)

♦ I'll work for several hours and will need to do some rendering, do I'll probably need some good heat dissipation

♦ I'll mostly work from home or from the office, so I don't need an incredible battery, but I want to be able to work from outside for some times before recharging.

♦ I'll need a hdmi output to plug a second screen or a VR headset

♦ I'll need several USB 3.0 input

♦ I'll need an ethernet input as well as good wifi

For now, I've been listing those, but I don't know anything about hardware.

- ACER Predator Triton 500 PT515-51-76Q8 [www.materiel.net]
Seems to be perfect for my needs, is the company known to do good products?

- MSI Creator 17M A9SE-039FR [www.materiel.net]
About the same computer by another brand, but higher price (is it worth it?)

- ASUS ROG Zephyrus S GX535GV-ES005T [www.materiel.net]
Only 512Go SSD for almost the same price

- MSI P65 8SE-249FR [www.materiel.net]
This one looks brittle

Are those companies known to do solid portable computers? Is it easy to change the battery? What about heat dissipation?
Don't hesitate to tell me any information, I'm a total noob in hardware.

Can you help me ?
Thanks!

Thanks for the link.
This led me to two interesting possibilities:

ROG Zephyrus M Thin [www.amazon.com]

15.6” 240Hz FHD IPS,
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070,
Intel Core i7-9750H,
16GB DDR4 RAM,
1TB PCIe SSD

Razer Blade Pro 17 [www.razer.com]

17.3“ Full HD 144Hz, 100% sRGB, 6.0mm bezel, factory calibrated
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 (6GB GDDR6 VRAM)
Intel Core i7-9750H
512GB PCIe NVMe SSD
16GB Dual-Channel (8GB x 2) DDR4 2667MHz

A 17” might be more confortable.

Do you know those brands? Are they reliable?

Thanks

the price is 3.380,00 eur though. Is the 1.380,00 eur price difference from your top budget not bothering you?
