Houdini GL and MatX previews

Howdy all, back to Houdini a bit for Mardini and wondering if there's a way to get Houdini GL to display MaterialX textures. Principled shader works fine, but as you can see the MatX material is black. I tried adding a MatX to USD Preview Surface thingy but that didn't work either. Thanks!

They should work. Some few mtlx nodes dont work in gl yet and cause a black material. Do you have any other nodes besides the image node?

Thanks for confirmation it should work. I'm using a custom image node with a bunch of color correction and other features built in. After some testing it turns out that it didn't like Signature: Color on the final switch node. I changed it to Color (l) and it works! What is Color (l)? That parameter isn't in the docs.

color(I) means the switch is indexed by an integer.

BTW, the viewport team would appreciate a bug report for MtlX shader issues in MtlX. They are keen to squash these! If you build a material in the USD MaterialX Subnet, you won't mix in Karma-specific nodes by accident.
