Hello!
I'm learning Houdini after years in Blender, and there's something I just can't figure out:
In Blender, when I'm animating, the dope sheet has a toggle to decide if it shows the keyframes of the currently selected object or every object.
But now that I'm in Houdini, I've discovered that Houdini generally only shows me the keyframes of the joint I've selected. There isn't really an option to always show me the other nodes or not. But, more importantly, it only shows me the keyframes of the currently selected joint! I don't even have an option to show me the keyframes of all of the joints of the current node!
This has been causing problems.
1) I tend to only put keyframes on a few frames for an animation (I like to have a few strong key poses, and then to leave the rest interpolated). But I can't keep track of which keyframes I'm keeping my key poses on when I can't see where the keyframes are for the other joints.
2) There's an "update channels" button on the timeline to show the keyframes of all of the currently keyframed channels, and you can pin all the channels so they don't go anywhere. So for a while I kept refreshing that button and hitting "pin all" like it's an quicksave button in a video game, thinking that that was the very annoying solution to my problem. Only to discover that when you select a joint, IT UNPINS THAT CHANNEL FROM THE CHANNEL LIST! So, after half an hour of animating, I'd then move the keyframes around in the animation editor to retime the animation, and then realize that I wasn't moving all of my most important keyframes and now the animation is a mess where half the joints are on the right frames and the other half are on the wrong frames!!
Is there any way in Houdini's animation editor or timeline to always show all of the keyframes from all the keyframed channels of the current node? (I don't need the other nodes, just the currently selected one.)
Thanks for any help you can provide.
How do I always see all the keyframes at once?

Sorry, I never do character animation, but seeing as there's no answer yet, have your tried setting up channel groups [www.sidefx.com]? Would that help?
