yes i put just an HDR image in the environment light as an environment map
the problem is why mantra material dosent reflect the environment map like fbx material do ???? i try everything
i actually want to use mantra material cause the reflection pass is nice , with fbx surface shader you cant go inside to get vex code for exporting reflection pass , other extra image plan in mantra render are not working properly

i have a problem here guys
i import an fbx file from 3ds max with materials , fbx material inside houdini have a reflect parameter working fine but when i try to do the same effect by using mantra material i get a problem
my question is
how to make the same effect through mantra material , am i doing something wrong???? it just an hdr image inside an environment light , why fbx material able to reflect the hdr image properly when mantra material is not ????
second i try to use mantra cause i can export reflection pass properly , is there any way to export reflection pass from fbx materials cause in houdini fbx material are locked and you cant go inside it , i try everything nothing work actually

this is a simple poly sphere with normls points
the problem is when i scatter points on the sphere surface i want the new points to inherit the normals ,instead they all point to one direction
points sop or vertex sop or facet sop dosent fix the problem

hi guys
im having a little problem with making a glass martial
in the pic the top of the cup its ok but in the bottom the lights look its not fractured at all
i reduce the reflect amounts but no result
i just put a light and environment light with hdr map , trying a big sphere as an environment light source but the same result
am i missing somethings ???

its a very smart way thank you very much
but i find something odd when i up the number frame in the swich its stop and not working any more
its ok until i reach 60 frame
i enclosed a file when i change your to 100 frame and it sudenly stops
i try to increase to steps for dop simulation but no result

ok its working perfectly with RBD but still in bullet not working like you refer in your file

so the points will continue inherit the normal direction from geometry

i try to make a shift for end and i put the last frame for scale volum source to 0 and for gas release also 0
the animation fade out but not totally

it will be nice from side effects to make a controler change all this paramiteres because it very important to get something define the start and the end of the effects
i do every thing you said and i shift the animation the problem still is when i change the start frame in dop network to 50 frame all my object disappear and every thing messed up so i keep it at 0 frame
i dont know why but that mean the animation still start at 0 frmae for that i get the source volume appear on my object
any suggestion to make the source volume start just at 50 frame

im dying here trying to modefie the first frame for starting simulate exploison on object using pyro fx
any one know how i specifie the first frame for starting simulation because i want my object to start smoke and fire after a 50 frame of animation
