Hi everyone,
A very wierd issue here, I tried to make a very simple scene :
Torus ( +10 Y position ) –> RDB —> make Breakable —> Ground plane
—>Play—> Nothing happend !
The funny part is, I sent this scene to a collegue and that works on his work station.
Any idea ?

probably I have to start a new topic but in the files I have attached, smoke is emitted from points scattered on the interior faces on the fractured geometry in order to simulate the dust effect. By default the smoke is very thick, as a smoke should be but not a dust. How can I have more transparent, less density smoke. This can be controlled only from the shader?
Yes could change the smoke and shadow density into the shader.

I thing it's a filtering problem; Did you try to switch your filter type on the import_pyro_build node with blackman filter ?

Thx for your reply, but in this case, it's to merge a custom shader, isn't-it ?, in fact, it will be to merge a task, inject an another object, or an another fluid effect… I think I expressed myself badly.

Hello everyone,
I search the way to inject a task into a my openEXR, I would like input this like an extra image plane.
For exemple, I have a simple scene with P, N, Z, Diff, Reflection..etc and I would like combine that by a custom variable, RGB_light for exemple, or whatever, like in Renderman with the custom AOV.
is-it possible ?

did you used autoresized container with your slow motion effect at the end of your sim? How you did the slow motion, timeblend+timeshift SOP, CHOPs or VOPs, can you please share few details about this?
I made a simple test like this with the orignal preset of the volcano, and I had a slow motion effect at a moment ..after something like the 125 frames. I did not touch any parameters ! I created a sphere then attach the pyro on it. very wierd.

I changed the write permission on this file, licences.local, by a chmod command, it was -rw-rw-r– and now it's -rwxrwxrwx, but it still doesn't work.
I tried an another way, into a shell I made an mv command on this file /Library/Preferences/sesi/licenses.local to /Library/Preferences/sesi/licenses.local.old, after that I had re-start my houdini and the license installation appear again, but this time when the installation of licenses was done, and I clicked on Run, houdini was started perfectly. I don't know why the licenses was be corrupted but it re write another “fresh” license. I hope my problem will help someone else.

Try to download the newest version (12.0.581) , side effet fixed that.
Normally you have the same problem with light and camera.

I downloaded the last version of houdini, 12.0.581, and when I try to launch the program, the houdini license administrator appear, so I check the ‘install my free Houdini apprentice licence but after that when I click on ’ run ‘ it’s the same window appear one more time, at the end I can't start houdini actually. Also if I click on the ‘ view licences ’ all licences are ok, into the installed licenses also the server information.
Some clue ? .

Hi everyone,
I trying to obtain the same detail like on the volcano demonstration of houdini 12 but no succes. Anybody have an idea how to obtain this king of detail into the smoke ?
This detail appear if I subdivide the resolution ? the shader used is it the bilowysmoke ? I think I miss something
