hello, from this wishlist, I understand that bridging polygon faces is not possible in H14?

So nobody is using this tool? My questions remain and I'm even adding a new question!!!
If I add an edge by mistake, how can I remove it, but still stay in the polysplit mode in order to add more edges?

Oopps I just managed to make it work , by disabling “select visible geometry only”. however, I don't find this logical. Currently I need to select edges. Enabling this button should allow me to select edges that are in the front of the polygonal objects, and not the ones on the back.
Disabling this button should allow me to select edges that are in the front and on the back.
But if the normal behavior of the box selection is to select edges that are inside the box, the “select visible geometry only” button should not change this behavior. Not?

In Soft when you draw a selection rectangle, everything that “touches” the rectangle is selected.
In Hou, when you draw a selection rectangle, everything that is inside the rectangle is selected.
How can I make Hou behave like Soft? :roll:

I need one tip to go forward :
How do I get the selected points into the flatten group text box and the target point text box? I tried selecting things then use the right side drop down menu but it doesn't seem to work… See attachment.

How are you. Thanks a lot for your great help! yes this is exactly what I'm trying to achieve: given a selection of points, snap this selection to a specific point, in either the X, Y or Z directions. Your hip scene shows this perfectly.
Flatten to point.otl : is this an file I can use as a tool inside Houdini? What would be the way to use it?

Hi all 8) I have some questions about Polysplit so please check the attached pictures. The documentation about Polysplit seems very incomplete.
1) Before connecting a new edge to a point, I don't see one single new edge in red, but 2 of them. Why?
2) Once I reach the point I want to connect, its surrounding edges get highlighted in blue. If I move a bit the mouse, the left edge turns blue, if I move again, the upper edge gets highlighted, etc. I was just wondering what does mean this blue highlighting?
Perhaps I'm not using this tool properly and that's why, after I connect a new edge to a point, the target point gets multiplied. I get 2 points inside of one where I connected the edge. And if I move one of these points, a hole appear :?
Oh and by the way, how do I weld 2 points?

Hello, I'm visiting this thread for the “ Collapse points for snapping ” function.
Thanks Pezetko for the files. I saw the Houdini scene file and it seems , with Fuse, you need to snap on the grid? Or is it possible to snap on points too? What would be the steps to achieve that?

Hello,
What I'm doing is very simple. Select some edges then use Edge Subdivide. Usually it's working well, but on some occasions, it gives weird results: it does not loop completely around the object. Please check the attached image.
Bug or not bug?

Thanks for the nice information!!
Now I set up “edge subdivide” to ALT+D. However , when I select some edges then press ALT+D, nothing happens. I tried restarting Houdini to no avail. What am I missing?
EDIT: it worked at last. Perhaps I have to press both keys a bit longer… ? :roll:
EDIT 2 : I've been editing too fast. It's been working ONCE! Now it doesn't work again. Grrrr :evil:

Some tools seem to be missing from the hotkey manager. For example, I want to set keyboard shortcuts for the most used modelling tools. When I search the Hotkey Manager, I can't find “Polysplit” and “Edge subdivide”.
Why ???

Is Houdini compatible with the french keyboard now?
I have a problem with selecting all and deselecting all. In the doc, it says : “A: Select all, N: Select nothing”.
But when I press “N”, it selects all, and when I press “A”, nothing happens…
What's the matter?
