DA cannot be modified inside, but it can create geo ouside. I mean, you can make DA from 7 nulls, add python scripts that will create geo outside HDA, each null different, that you pick in your greeble node HDA. And this created geo will be parented to your master node also.
Just a thought.

Right now I am a bit lost on what your trying to do
Wee, and I thought that it's my lack of english language knowledge.

On a more serious note, you mentioned somewhere (maybe at 3dbuzz) that you had been working on a model (or models) in Houdini - when are we going to see some shots?
Modeling is not a problem, it's time and while I don't have it to much I prefer to spend it right now on:
1. I got some new Ideas for tools
2. I'm playing with Python
3. Just bought couple new Python books and Houdini (cmi) and UV(gnomon) tuts to watch. About 30 hours of material to watch.
After I done with that I promise to end models. I just need them for my rigging project so they will be done for sure.

Dupku!
I get my standard answer for this word from your Houdini Models gallery page 3 . You never answered what this picture shows.

Seriously, It looks great, really solid project.

Alternative way. Shame that we dont have edge groups implemented, this will be much easier.
Aditionaly you can add third check and look if triangle angles are = 90 and delete those that are not. But with two check methods that are in file I think it should work.
Left = Polar, Middle = points to process, Right = New method

Is this what you want ? It should pickup texture atuomatically, if not speciffy it in texure node and hit play.

Better do this with VOPs and “op:” expression.
NOTE: Sometimes you don't need null but when you find that something don't work while it should try placing null. In my case It didn't wan't pickup normal directly from sphere1 so I used null. It started to work directly after restarting Houdini, but you don't wanna restart program all the time, right . One null more is not a big deal.

I dun really understand the calculate polar node is doing in the something like this file. What is it doing ? Thanks alot.
It uses angles insead of point numbers to sort points. So the point that has smallest angle(I mean smallest number, not the angle itself) will have point number 0. Bigger angle means bigger point number. So angle = point 0, angle = point 1 etc…
NOTE: on the picture I incorrectly placed geometry so you have minus values on both sides of Y, but I hope you get the idea .

You mean something like this ?
EDIT: Could you make your image a little smaller ? 800 res width is enought to see it clearly .

If you look into details view, you will see that tangent is not writen as x,y,and z vector like P but as ,,.
Change X,Y,Z on the end of $TANGENT to 1,2,3 and it will work. Later you will see error in next node where $RADIAL will report error, do the same there (so change $RADIALX2 to $RADIAL12 etc).
What I'm curious is why this is no working as 0, 1, 2. Anybody ?

Try this version. Added notes what changed. If it doesn't work by default, load added tangentOTL (but I think I chked "save definition to HIP, so it should work without additional loading).

LOL. A litle offtopic.
In meantime when I downloaded this topic I also started Houdini, then maximized browser again and your image with warning showed, my reaction = WTF ? then I presed X to close this window and realized that its your post .

1. Use Global extrude Y value not Local, so you don't have to compensate movement on other axis like you done in your geo.
2. Turn off output front on OptionsTAB of polyextrude1. When you extrude line it leaves it as a front face

Look closely how your polysplit2 and polysplit3 are layed. You created broken geometry and from those nodes down all geo is more and more broken each time you add something. Fix this and all errors in network belowand you should see improvment.

The reason i was wanting to level points was to flatten part of a model. I have tried selecting them and using a smooth which works but they seem to scale outwards as well and i dont want that.
Or try FlatternPoint tool that you can find here http://forums.odforce.net/index.php?/topic/9707-my-tools/ [forums.odforce.net]
