Hey zahapp,
when using a resample node on your curve you can set a Curve U Attribute. You can reshape the attribute after the resample using a wrangle node with a chramp function. Use it in the polywire as the wire radius.
For the branches, you can use an attribute transfer to get the curve u attribute on the trunk. use this to multiply your branch wire radius.

Hey liftingfaces,
I think Litesound has read “world” instead of “word”…
you need a Voronoi fracture to shatter your word, you need the rbd solver to simulate them bouncing around. for converting your fragments into cubes you might need to dig a little bit into the bullet solver intrinsic attributes. or you delete the fragment at a certain frame and exchange it for a cube at the same location.
a good rbd stuff intro:

I dont think you need a supercomputer to achieve something that „looks“ like this.
Try using a sphere and use a fresnel to drive the refraction index.

Hey dchow1992,
this is really a great tool and a massive work speedup! Thank you so much!
Can somebody give me a hint how a user function could be created that lets me jump to another network type?
I want to have on shift right-click a menu that lets me jump to obj, mat, out, img etc…
thanks in advantage!

Hey Everybody,
I am trying to get automated uvs with no overlapping. Does anybody know a way how to group primitives with overlapping uvs?
This way I could assign an additional seam around this primitives to deal with the overlapping. Unfortunately, I always get overlapping uvs in some areas, with all tools I try (game autoUVs, autoseams. .. etc)
Cheers

Hey magolalipson,
there are many ways to do this in Houdini. If you are new and looking for an easy way. Maybe try MOPS there is an Aim Modifier, that might be helpful.https://vimeo.com/272809898 [vimeo.com]

Hey Magnus,
very cool plugin! thanks a lot. I discovered an issue with the way materials are created. I want them to get created the way it's here:
https://vimeo.com/301884509#t=16m [vimeo.com]
so it creates materials inside others depending on the node one selects. This only works for me if I use the Houdini standard desktops. If I use a custom desktop it always creates new materials. Is there a way to fix this?

Technical Discussion » Add points to curve

Hey grendizer,
yea, I share your problems. For one the curve node should allow multi-point editing with all the normal tools like scale, rotate translate. This way you wouldn't need an extra edit node in many cases.
And the polyextrude along spline behaviour is fine if one wants to extrude many polys all in their own “local transposed” curve space. but in most cases like yours. one wants to match the curve in 3d space with the extrusion. there should be a checkbox for it.
atm, I think you have to match by hand the “front transform” in your “extrusion” tab to the last point on the curve… cumbersome
Cheers

hey grendizer,
you have to activate the tool in the viewport. by pressing enter. then you shift-click on the curve = insert point at this location. shift click somewhere else = append point at end of the curve.
It works for me.

Hey MoltenCrazy,
Without looking into your file my solution would be: just use the fractured geo on the frame of shattering. This way you wont need to use the highpoly character?
Sry if this wont help you at all!

Hey pande,
some of your grids are inverted and their normal face inside your box. this cant be beveled. make sure all polygons face outside.
you dont need the boolean. Just use fuse with consolidate.
