If they are both on the same plane then you can use the cookie sop and set it to intersect. Make sure they are merged into the same object.
if they are in separate objects then you can use the boolean tool on the Model shelf - it will set up the cookie and merge the nodes for you.

Does this file do what you want. It has a camera parented to a null object that is “looking at” another null. It also has the camera set as unselectable so you don't get the strange handle issue when using the handle tool. Now you can select and move the two null objects and there is no strange rotations.

Actually Houdini is being used by more and more game companies to complete a variety of tasks from game cinematics, in-game VFX, procedural asset generation and more specific tasks such as the generation of terrain.
On our site we generally talk about the film and VFX side of things because that is what Houdini is used for the most but games companies are discovering Houdini and putting it to good use. We are looking for more game company stories to share this info but we usually have to wait until particular titles have come out and studios have time for telling stories.
A few of us were at the DIG conference [diglondon.ca] here in Ontario last week meeting with games companies and looking for better ways to make better games.

I believe that this is because Houdini is Mantra centric by default. You need to go to Edit > Preferences > Rendering to reveal other renderers or focus completely on one of them.

Can you post the file itself? Turn on point numbers and you will see that the points from one shape are probably lofting to the right points on the second shape based on number - It is possible to reorder the numbers using a sort node. If I can see your file they I can probably fix it to show you what I mean.

Did you try the camera's focus handle? You can RMB-click on the camera's handle (when the Handle tool is active) and select Focus Handle. This gives you a handle for positioning the Focus Distance using the little cube and the F-Stop using the arrows.
You can then set keyframes on the parameters as needed.

Houdini also has modeling tools on the shelf which you can use to create models without wiring nodes yourself.
Once you get better with Houdini, you will go back and forth between shelf tools and network nodes as needed for your particular task. Usually working with nodes directly lets you work smarter and provides ways of exploring different creative options.

Houdini Lounge » Occlusion Material removed?

Our goal was to focus people's attention on one way of getting occlusion instead of presenting two ways that are completely different. It would be great to hear from more people who would like to see occlusion on the shader.
Your feedback on this issue is very helpful. Another question is whether or not you would want the occlusion vop in the Mantra Surface material - this could provide an occlusion export which is independent from the diffuse and specular lighting and you would not need to create a separate pass with unique shader assignments.
Some sample scenes with your preferred lighting setup would also help us determine how people like to prepare their output channels in production (if you have any time…)
Thanks,
Robert

The exports that are found in the Mantra Surface material are shown in that menu. There are already exports ready to go once you assign the material.
If you roll your own then you need to type the variable name yourself.
