Here is an example File.
The GLTF in this network is exported as per frame point animation and not as GLTF (GLB) with transfroms.
Someone an idea to do this?
Thanks Tom

Hi,
I have an animation, a cube unfolding 6 sides using transform nodes.
If I save this out, using GLTF ROP node, it is writing out frame per frame file instead the file with transforms, which is way more data intensiv.
What is the trick to get transform animation in a GLTF?
Thanks Tom

Hi Mestela
Thank you for your help, it works.
I didn't know, that it has to be out of a LOP Network.
This USD is something I still have to get in my brain :-)

I need to export a simple object as USD.
I made 2 Facesets (Polygroups) but the export doesn't include this facesets.
Does someone has experience exporting USD to other applications.
Thanks Tom

Houdini Indie and Apprentice » Attach a trolley case (RBD) to an animated alembic character

tamteHi Tamte,
here is one way
thank you a lot for your approach. I appreciate it very much.
It's strange, that there isn't something much more easy implemented. I guess it's a common case to
pin RBD to something that drags.
Anyway, I have to study it first.
Thank you
Tom

I tried it with a glue-adjacent constraint, but then, the alembic character has to be at least something RBD too.
I don't think this solution is the real way to go. I have a blackout.
I attached the hip with the alembic and my "solution"... :-)
I'm sure, Houdini has some much better ways to do this.
Any modification are welcome.

Hi
it sound very simple, but I really can't find out how I can pin or attach a trolley case to an
animated alembic mesh. How could I attach the RBD Pin constraint to the mesh?
Is there a tutorial showing me the concept. It could also be a truck trailer who is pulled from the truck.
Many thanks

Hi,
I would like to animate the box which adds the point to the “hot” group for ignition.
If I animate the box, it adds the points to the group, but the fire just ignite in the first frame.
I can't figure out what I need to change to get the animated box to ignite the fire.
I attached the scene.
Thanks for any help

Sorry for the active file saver node.
I have just problems, that the VDB isn‘t saved out.
The problem in your scene was the missing node for writing the vdb.
The fetch node is not pointing to anything in your scene.
Add a rop geometry sop in place of the file node, and update the fetch's path with that of the rop geometry node.
Attached is an example
Thanks a lot for the example file, I have to check again, because even if I change the
fetch path to where the vdb is coming, it won't write the file at moment.
But maybe I have something other who is missing.

Thank you for clarify.
I didn‘t mean that all severs shoult write at rhe samw time, I mean
Saver A Frame 01
Saver B Frame 01
Saver C Frane 01
Saver A Frane 02
Saver B Frane 02
Saver C Frane 02
Just that I can write out the files at the same time.

Hi,
I can't save out simultaneous alembic &vdb sequence.
Alembic is saving out, vdb not.
What do I have to change in the ROP?

Hi,
how can I orient the camera along it's own path in heading/pitch and bank?
I can't find the displayed curve anywhere as an element to make a look at or similar.
Many Thanks

Hi,
I try to create a simulation where water runs over a surface (special fabric) with lotus effect, which means that the liquid tends to sta in “droplet” shape and unite also to droplets…iike mercury.
If I rise the viscosity, it keeps it's shape better, but sometimes it also sticks too much..
Surface Tension also didn't the job.. I got good results using Metaballs and Partifles, but is ist possible doing it with FLIP?
Thamk you

In your ragdoll state, you need to specify which clip should be driving the joints that aren't active (in your case, change Clip Name from ‘$OS’ to ‘walker’)
ahhh, thank you, this was the trick.
I have overseen this completly.

Hi,
I made a simple setup with H16.5 to achieve the partial ragdoll effect.
It does come in the partial state, but after this all agents explode like popcorn.
I don't know why, any hints?
I added this simple scene.
Or could someone successfully do a partial ragdoll setup?
Help very appreciated

Hi cwhite,
thank you for your hint.
If I increase the allowed variance parameter, all particles are moving slower.
With the popVelocity node and v.x = rand(@id * 10); there is no difference.
Or how would you randomize the particle speed?
Thank you
Tom
I saw that instead of @id I have to take @sourceptnum
But what force does it the best? If I take a wind or popforce the agents with
randomized speed blobs arround an obstacle.
