Hi. I looked at how Renderman doe it and it pretty much the same idea as well. I was hoping the backgroundplate LOP would do the trick but the shadow pass also has the reflection in it. Best

Hi. Maya's own USD plugin is a bit wonkey. To export from Maya I tend to use this with no issues: https://j-cube.jp/solutions/multiverse/ [j-cube.jp]
You could also try updating the Autodesks latest build of the USD exporter: https://github.com/Autodesk/maya-usd/releases/ [github.com]

Hi all.
I have just set up Houdini for OCIO 1.3 What I am wondering if do I need to convert my regular sRGB exr images to ACES before I convert them to RAT files or does MaterialX and Karma (assuming Karma has been set up for ACES-CG)convert images on the fly?

I have read the documentation on the configure stage lop. I am trying to work out how to remove all lights and materials. I know I am doing it wrong right now. Does anyone know how to do this? Best. Mark

Hi. I am having odd issues rendering cameras in the latest builds. Although karma has the camera set, it keeps randomly switching to other cameras when rendering to disk. I'm not sure if you are having the same issue. I have submitted a bug. If I here anything I will let you know. Best.

Hi All.
I have been playing around and had no joy in trying to create a constant unshaded material using only the Material X LOPs.
I could hack this previously with a principled shader assigning a color/image to the Emission Color and turning off "emission Illuminates Objects". Does anyone know how to do this.

Hi all. before I dive into Mari I though I would pose the question here:
I have a model of a building. I have two copies of this building, the first with original UV's and the second with new UV's. Is there a way to transfer the textures from the original building with original UV's over to the new UV-d model?

EDIT: never mind. Labs maps baker does the trick!

Hi. Thanks. I did think of using a disp map. The other thing I was thinking was if I could convert a bump to a normal in the shader network somehow.

Here is a quick example for you. These are actually exports from Multiverse in Maya. but the idea is the same. I am trying to figure out how to just export the point anim data with a usd_rop next. If I do ill post it up here.
