Why might the autorig builder not show the test rig geometry

I am experimenting with the autorig builder.

I'm basically copying the electra test geometry and feeding that into the autorig builder, so I referenced the geometry rest pose and the skeleton for electra, and then plugged them into a pack character node, and then the autorig builder.

With that, I can see how everything is working, and I can see the test rig with joints, etc.

But If I try to recreate that with my own model & a skeleton I make, I cannot see the test rig geometry. I can see the skeleton is working correctly, and can drag and drop items, but I don't see the test geometry.

Are there any basic things someone can point me to so that I ensure my model is set up as it needs to be in order to be seen in this node?



I am trying to follow along with https://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/character/kinefx/autorigbuilder.html [www.sidefx.com] but I feel I must be missing something pretty basic.
