I have some footage from a camera that I would like to use. How do I import it into Houdini? (either MP4 or MTS)

Is that a material operation or is there some kind of compositor built into Houdini?

there is a compositor - COPs
Houdini wont import movie files - convert them to exr or tiff etc then put down a File COP

So what about the audio and scrubbing?

How does the compositor handle that?

To hear audio when you scrub you have to have a separate audio file and read it into CHOPS. The file CHOP can read several common audio formats
