Hello,

In my project the constant smoke shader for my sim gives me the type of smoke behaviour and look that I want with the exception of lighting.

By inherent structure of this shader the docs say this smoke is not affected by light.

Looking at the smoke though there does seem to be some ‘default’ direction of light applied to the smoke, or maybe rather its a default emission direction.

What I am wanting to do is to be able to shift this apparent direction of light.

I dove into the shader network and the only thing I can think of is perhaps plug something into the Normals input of the OutPut1 ‘box’ or do something with the emission output of the parameter1(Ce) box.

This part of Houdini I am not versed in knowing what to do.

If anyone knows what I can do with this constant smoke shader the suggestions are appreciated. (If of course what I want to do is possible or not).

Otherwise I'll go back to using billowy/wispy smoke shader, making adjustments with that to get what I want.

Thanks
