Exporting a fractured sim to maya alembic with uv

Hi

I've been having problems with the UV of my geo. I exported it and imported it as alembic and it said “UVs aren't per-vertex or per-polygon per-vertex, skipping” in Maya. I tried to clean it with clean sop, unpacked it, promoted the uv to vertex (actually it already has been moved to vertex attribute from the beginning), etc, but nothing worked. Does anyone know how to fix this?

This is the sim file (first frame) if anyone want to take a look at the geo (227 MB, sorry for the heavy size..)

Thanks

Hi, I downloaded the geo, it looks ok on my end. I exported a portion of it to alembic, then imported it into max2017 (I have no access to maya sorry).

The UV's seems to have been transferred with no problems.
I used the ROP Alembic Output SOP with default settings except for the output filename.

Hi galagast thanks for checking up the file
Actually, I was able to get the uv inside Maya. But still, the “UVs aren't per-vertex or per-polygon per-vertex, skipping” error still persist on certain frames and it causes problem with Arnold's motion blur. Though you are using max2017, perhaps you know whats wrong? Is it something to do with normals? Maybe, do i need to pre-compute the normals with facet node before exporting??

Hi, I wish I could help further, but I couldn't replicate the same error that you're getting in order to further troubleshoot the problem

Have you tried things that were suggested on this thread? http://forums.odforce.net/topic/21626-alembic-export-to-maya-error/ [forums.odforce.net]

I've tried the things that were suggested from that thread, but only the UVs that work. The “UVs aren't per-vertex or per-polygon per-vertex, skipping” error still there, maybe I'm missing something..
But, since I was tasked to change the whole sim and focus only certain things, I guess I have a chance to rebuild the nodes so I won't mess up. I'll be updating the thread if something still goes wrong. Thanks galagast!
