It could be a different issue to what I've encountered based on you saying it affects every file but when it happens to me I've found copying and pasting my scene from to an empty hip file can fix this.

Another thing you could try so you can define your own edgeflow/point position is use the polysplit node.

I've also been encountering this problem. Not quite sure what is causing it but it's been happening on a file where I have some large string attributes.
I've just been opening the parameter spreadsheet to view them when there's issues.
