Teaser Videos:

Public Live Stream (live broadcast replay without editing)

In this video, I demonstrate how to setup a Vellum Grains scene where a Bug Army that is driven by Houdini's Crowd Solver & Kine FX animation rig.  The animation generated by the Crowd Solver & Kine FX rig is used to collide with the Grains in the scene. The scene will take 2 Stream sessions to cover, so the first scene will cover a simple version of the scene where the bugs just pop out of the ground. The next Stream (still in the works) will dig into the Castle Tower in the middle and demonstrate how to trigger the activation of the Grains dynamically. The Bug Crowd Agents will drive the activation by triggering the Grains as they walk by.

Transitioning from a coder to a 3D artist. Houdini was the best option for me after I explored a different number of 3D software applications. I love the procedural workflow in Houdini and how easily accessible the attributes of the geometry are available to the user. This makes it a lot easier to focus on creating a good render and less time wasted on trying to figure out how to access certain geometry points or edges.
