Let's get started. Even though this project is optional, take the time to read through this. It will help you get setup for the rest of the course. Think of it as a practice run. The goal is to:
1. Create a project.
2. Post your project to the forum.
Constraints
Every day you have to work within constraints. You have a limited amount of time and resources. It's within these constraints that you create great work. Instead of trying to work around or dissolve constraints, what if you saw these constraints as an asset?
Action:
Create a destruction simulation of a cannon ball crashing through a wall using only compound objects (no constraints) and activating pieces. For now, stick to using the voronoi fracture node; we'll get to using the rbd material fracture in future projects.
Create a new thread on the forum and include PCW in the title. Post your project to the thread. Feel free to include any information you think is needed to support the submission. hip files, videos, reference images, etc.
If you're new to rbd take the time to work through this project. It will set you up for success when you start the main course work next week. If you're more familiar with rbd don't be too precious with the final submission. We just want to make sure you're comfortable with:
1. Setting up a basic rbd bullet sim.
2. Creating compound objects using the name attribute.
3. Crafting a simulation by changing the active attribute on rbd pieces.
