KitBash3D gets an Upgrade
Adding KitBash3D assets to Houdini-based pipelines just got faster, cleaner, and more production-ready. KitBash3D has made significant updates to their USD schema in collaboration with SideFX. These improvements are available to every Houdini user working with KitBash3D assets. Whether you’ve purchased individual Kits or are pulling assets through a Cargo subscription, you can experience Houdini-native workflows designed for both speed and scale with Houdini integration v2.0.
Unified USD Schema
All KitBash3D assets now import into Houdini’s Solaris as native USD. Built directly with SideFX, this integration ensures that instancing, references, and MaterialX behave exactly as Houdini artists expect.
Asset & Material Gallery (Cargo Importer v2.0)
For Cargo users, we’ve now added support for macOS in addition to Windows. Every imported asset and material is catalogued with thumbnails inside Houdini. This makes it easy to stay organized and reuse assets across projects.
