At Rubika Montréal, Houdini is an essential tool taught across the Animation curriculum and the Video Game – Technical Art program. The software is used not only for FX simulation but also as a foundation for procedural workflows, tool creation, grooming, and real-time integration.


In Animation, Houdini is taught as part of the visual storytelling and film production process. Students learn to create procedural assets,  complex simulations (fire, smoke, fluids), and develop tools and grooming systems. These skills are applied in the context of short films and high-quality animation pipelines.
