Houdini Apprentice licenses may be used in a commercial setting for non-commercial training purposes. The machines using Apprentice must be segregated from the commercial pipeline. We generally discourage commercial facilities from running Apprentice licenses.

If you would like Education licenses for an internal training centre in your commercial facility, please make an education inquiry. Great care must be taken not to mix content created with Houdini Education into your production environment, since Houdini Education uses non-commercial format. If files created using the non-commercial format are opened in a commercial version of Houdini, Houdini will downgrade into the non-commercial version.

If you would like to use Houdini at home, outside of your use in a commercial facility, you may use Houdini Apprentice for personal use.
