You can import licenses from a .hlic file. This file lists licenses to install and disable. If this command is run twice with the same file, the second run will do nothing.

To download the licenses file

Where licenses.hlic is the file you have downloaded from your online portal, or it has been sent to you by our support team.

1. Log into your SideFX license account at www.sidefx.com/services.
   
2. Navigate to the License Management section and click Manage your licenses.
   
3. Click the Generate Licenses File button.
   
4. Click on the machine name you need licenses for.
5. Click the button on the bottom of the page to Download License Keys.
   

To import the licenses file

The best way to import the .hlic file is to use the command line tool called sesictrl.
To access sesictrl, please refer to How can I setup the Houdini environment for command line usage?

sesictrl import -h machinename -f filename.hlic

Substitute machine-name for the local machine name associated with licenses.
Enter the full path of where you have downloaded or saved the .hlic file.

For example:

sesictrl import -h myserver -f C:/Users/username/Downloads/myserver.hlic
