Hi,

I was wondering it anyone had any experience with utilizing Houdini together with software such as MaxMSP, Ableton Live, Reason and so on..

I want to feed MIDI information out of Houdini and into a audio-software, for then to feed the outputed waveform-audio from the audio-software back into Houdini for futher processing. All this needs to be procedrual.

Houdini seems to have a pretty powerfull foundation for constructing ones own synthesizers and audio-effects, though it still would be very usefull to be able to utilize the tools of a external audio-software.

I'm not quite sure where to start, so I'm just wondering if anyone whom attempted something similar, or if it's even possible.

Did you have a look at: http://www.derivative.ca/ [derivative.ca]
It's like Houdini, but targeted towards live stuff …
this is not a science fair.

Hi, I've recently spent some time trying to do this, and would also recommend trying out TouchDesigner (http://derivative.ca/) [derivative.ca] first instead.
MIDI out from Houdini (at least in Windows) seems pretty buggy, and there's no OSC output.
