Hi all,

I've finished the Real Flow SD file importer, there's still a few more things to figure out, just a few minor things, but I also have a few more features in mind that might be handy too. The SD exporters (SOP and ROP/IFD) are now writing the correct Real Flow 2.5 SD file format.

I'll have versions compiled for Houdini 6.0 and possibly 6.5 by this weekend, I'm not sure if I'm going to be providing so many different versions in the future as it's a bit of a headache, will probably just stick to the “official” Houdini release versions, i.e. 6.1.208 (if anyone objects to this please email).

I'll also have a tutorial done this weekend demonstrating importing Real Wave Surfaces, and one to use Real Flow data to generate i3d files for use as “vector fields”; good fun.

After looking over the server logs I found there was a lot of downloads for the Real Flow plugins built for Houdini version 6.0 as well as 6.1, so both versions are ready to rock-n-roll.

I'll have versions of the plugins for Houdini 6.5 done sometime this week.

The tutorials for the Real Flow “Real Wave” SD file import is almost done and will be up in a day or two along with the i3D tutorials which will be on odforce.

I've got the plugins compiled and working with the 6.5 HDK, (except for the SOP_RF_Export, for some reason it's crashing Houdini with a call to lockInputs(context)) on both Windows and Linux. I hope to have the IRIX version done soon to but have run into problems with the 6.5 installer. There's a few new tutorials on their way for Real wave surfaces and RBD data being imported into Houdini, will be posted Sunday.

I got the bug fixed for the Real Flow Export SOP for H6.5 (thanks Edward and Jeff!), except for IRIX, which should be soon to come as well. All the plugins seem to be playing nicely with 6.5, please report any bugs you may find. Thx!
