Hi everyone! I have modelled a candle flame simply using a elongated sphere and a glass shader. When i render it using ‘view: mantra’ it looked really good (for what i need), but then when i rendered it to a file using mantra, it looked rubbish! Go to http://odforce.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=2672 [odforce.net] to see the images that i've put on odforce.

Can anyone explain to me what is happening, and how to make it look lke the good one but rendered to file?

Any help would be massively appreciated!!

Cheers,

Nick

not an answer to your question but you might want tomake sure that your render flags are the same as your display flags.

I'm not sure what is happening, but I belive that the parameters are set to render with a low quality.
I suggest you to follow, if you haven't already done so, the Rendering video tutorial. You can find it here:

http://sidefx.vislab.usyd.edu.au/houdini_video/by_topic/rendering/index.html [sidefx.vislab.usyd.edu.au]

The topic is Rendering with Mantra5. A little bit old but ok (at least for me )

Bye!
Keep working! Johnny Worker!
