Hi, I just installed Houdini Apprentice Version 14.0.395 on a Mac OS X Version 10.10.4 and started working through an introduction to Houdini tutorial.

I'm currently learning how to modify geometry and I can not replicate the instructor box picking points on a grid. Every time I select specific points with a box, points outside of the box are selected instead. It appears that I have everything setup as the instructor so not sure where I am going wrong.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Googling the problem, people have associated box picking quirks with GPU issues. Just read over the list of supported mobile graphics cards and it seems that my AMD Radeon 6750M is supported.
