Hello everyone

I'm just a beginner in 3D. Familiar only with the basic knowledge of modeling, animation, rendering, etc. in programs such as Maya, Softimage and ZBrush

Some time ago, I was very interested in the possibilities of visual programming.
Be able to create the necessary tools instead of having to writing a lines of scripts.
ICE looks amazing and tempting, but it will not develop, Softimage will not develop. And I'm not sure that this knowledge will be able to find work in the future.

I wanted to ask your advice, dear friends. Does it make sense to continue to learn ICE and Softimage? Or focus only on Houdini?

Is it possible without technical knowledge to understand Houdini? And along with him to gain this knowledge?
Or is it too steep Wake up?

Most people begins with Softimage and ICE
Unfortunately I was late … and this path has expired

So … I wanted to ask you what to do next? Trying to immediately jump to Houdini?

I would be happy to read your opinions and advice
Perhaps links to useful literature or something else

Thank you in advance

Softimage is dead so you might as well learn Houdini.

Is it possible without technical knowledge to understand Houdini?
Of course.

Houdini is a lot of fun once you get the hang of it. The only way you can fail is by giving up. Check out the video tutorials in the learning section. The information “sticks” much better if you follow along.
