I have problem running houdini 16 in windowed mode(not maximize).
I have autohide taskbar in Win7 but Houdini16 doesnt fill all screen. Seems to be some extrange of invisible stripe at bottom.

In other way. I need to know how to remove the status line at bottom (the bar with logs - simulations mind on/off - AutoUpdate).. and also the windows taskbar of the aplication(minimize, maximize, close).
Both bars ocupy at least 10% of screen space. I think thos bars are stupid and bad for workflow,.

In Maya 2016 there are options for maximize application window without taskbar.

You can move any of the bars to a specific pane, by using the Pane Tab Operations menu ( button on the rightmost side of the panetabs). Pane Tab Menu > Pane Interface > Move Status Bar Here. You can also do the same thing with the shelf, the top Menu bar and the playbar.

Auto-hide doesn't adjust the screen area that Houdini thinks is useable, though you might be able to vertically reside the interface to fill it. As for the OS window header, it currently can't be removed.

Not sure about Windows but on MacOs you can tear off a pane tab and set it to use the full-screen, in the same Pane Tab Menu -> Pane Interface. Then you add all the needed panels. Though in the end you'll find gaining that extra 10% screen real-estate doesn't really add to the workflow!

Thanks both.
Thats is twod! we can move the “Main Menu” and the “Status bar” to another place and then collapse them(also can be reset). But we cant hide them.
In Maya the Main Menu is important because this changes as long you select Animation, Modeling, rigging..etc.
But here, in Houdini, both “Main Menu” and “Status bar” takes a lot of screen space. For the Main Menu I only use the Asset>Save Asset. For saving scenes I use “Ctrl+S” or the autosave feature inside Houdini. The Auto Update/Manual menu in Status bar is only used when working and cooking high meshes.

For the Windows7 taskbar seems to find a way to work… after adjusting the window position, close Houdini, change autohide taskbar option in win7 and restart houdini. This trick hide the Houdini title bar(also not usefull) behind the windows7 taskbar.
I think those infos should be as OSD inside the viewport of Houdini.. getting more space to work for critical Panes like the Spreadsheet.

Another question:
¿How to start the obj/bgeo GPLAY previewer in fullscreen or another size?
Is there a way to HexEdit the gplay.exe to change resolution.

You should be able to stow the main menu, but there's no way to do that with the status bar.

“gplay -screen 0” will start gplay on the primary display maximized, and you can use -geometry=2000x2000+0+0 (w, h, x,y) to fine tune its location. That also works for mplay and Houdini.

This is my actual interface configuration. Please give me advises and suggestions.
My screen resolution 3440x1400.
Global UI Size inside Houdini High DPI (designed for monitors with 180 dpi and up).
For this method we need a lot of space or bottom options like Open Dispaly Options icon (D) and Type Propeties > Parameters > Save button.. are outside the viewscreen!
Also the collapse bar are Bold and Big. A way to reduce the height of them.

I marked in red the wasted space area as fix suggestion for SideFx.
1. Icons for fast saving Asset
2. Favorites icons for SOP. The most used of them like merge, fuse, blast, at.wrangle,..
3. ¿?
4. ¿?

In blue Main menu and status line postion changed.

Created a shortcut icon named GPLAYER.EXE and added “C:\Program Files\Houdini16\bin\gplay.exe” -screen 0
Works! Thanks.
