Aight, I\'m painfully new to Houdini (and this forum, my first post) and have but one (two really, but related) simple question:
The view state. You\'ll normally hold down the spacebar to toggle the \'view state\' no matter what else you may be doing. You can press the \'escape\' key to drop the current tool context and enter the constant view state.
How do I exit the view state without having to creating another operator?
Example:
Say I had a \'delete\' node in my network and I want to click the \'reselect for last operator\' button to re-select the faces I want to delete…normally this would work, when not in the constant view state, but given my current situation being all viewtiful, it doesn\'t.
Another example might be, if I was in the constant view state and I create an operator in the network editor instead of in the 3D viewport. No tool contexts are automatically entered…how do I enter the tool context for the currently active node?
I mean…creating another operator in the 3D viewport and then deleting it just to get back into the tool context works…but seems kinda…stupid.
Thanks guys.

…and lastly…what is with all the escape characters in my post, heh.
Exiting the constant view state...

If you put a node done in the network editor then mouse over the viewport pane and hit the enter key, that should bring up any handles relevant for the current operator.
That seems to take care of business. It is the little things nobody tells you
ops:. Maya convert here, so view states and active nodes and all this jazz is all new to me.Thank you kindly, sir.

Thank you !
That piece of information gave me half of the answer of how to “re-activate” handles for nodes.
The other piece of the puzzle seems to be that the *display* flag has to be turned on for the node of interest to see it's handles.
