Hello,

I would be interested in a youtube video demonstrating how to manage a big scene eith a lot of objects. What I am actually looking for are layers.

I already watched some videos on compositing and I am not aksing about compositing or render layers. I also watched quite a lot video tutorials already and can do some basic modeling stuff. Still struggeling with the layer thing.

For now I am wondering how do I organize the viewport visability of objects quickly?

For example in blender I would do the folling layers and place the obejcts according, to quickly hide and unhide them, for example:

Layer1 Forest
Layer2 Cartoon Clouds
Layer3 Picknick
Layer4 Cars and Traffic
Layer5 Streets
Layer6 Lanterns
Layer7 Helperobejcts not renderable

And so on.

What is the equivalent in houdini? Any demonstration video would be appriciated. Thanks!

greetings

Hi
There are no layers in Houdini. Organize your scene by using separate geonodes for logical grouping and use subnets to organize your geonodes if you have alot of elements in your scene.
I'll get mi coat. Use groups

In the Network Editor, Tools -> Show Groups (Shift +Z) or use Bundles
