I have a .hda that scatters objects over an area using a rigid body simulation. It is meant to be used in Maya. Ideally, I'd like the artist to be able to just plug in the objects they want to simulate as input, and get the result of the simulation 300 frames later as the output. I do not want them to have to manually move the Maya timeline, or generally do any work other than press a button to receive the output. Ideally the Maya timeline wouldn't even move in the first place. If they hit the button on Maya frame 23, I'd like to have it stay on Maya frame 23. I've searched everywhere and am not sure this is possible, but it's entirely possible I just don't know what I am supposed to be searching for. Can anyone help me out, or at least point me in the direction of something that would show me some relevant information about this problem?
EDIT: I eventually found I needed a combination of the solver node and the timeshift node.
How to use a .hda in Maya and grab a houdini simulation output at a given frame without changing the maya frame
