Hello,
iam new to Houdini, so i tried to follow the free tutorial “Applied Houdini Rigids I”. In this, the tutor create a simple rigids body system with a rbd-packed object. I recreated the nodetree but when i run the simulation, the objects won´t fall down. In the rididbodysolver, i get the warning, that the rbdpackedobject geometry does not contain any primitive types supported by the solver.

I did it like in the tutorial. I took the testgeometry pighead, copied it along a cube and at the end of the nodetree i put a nullobject and named it “Teile”. Then in the packedobject i had choosen the SOP-Path to “Teile”. Where i my mistake?

I have a screenshot from the nodetree and the warnings.

Hi

You need packed the object before de DOP network.

Put the assemble node before Null and activate Create Packed Geometry.

It should work.

Thanks a lot, that works. Has this changed from Version 15 to 17? Because he didn`t put that node in the tutorial.

Hey. I have a similar situation, but there are some difficulties with applying your method. For what reason can the same error be displayed if the object is already packed with “assemble”? Can “rbd packed object” ignore objects due to the absence or presence of some kind of modifier?
