Optimizing alembic animations instances/copies

Hi everyone.

I have a question regarding optimization of a swarm simulation when it comes to the instancing/copying step. I have a simple popsim creating the motion for a swarm of butterflies. They are spawning on the surface of an object then flying away from it.

I then copy my alembic animation to those points. The caveat here is that i want to control the speed(not the offset) of the animation on each butterfly using Retime SOP.

I'm wondering if it's possible to do this using instancing or a more optimized method? Luckily, i only have a thousand of copies so it's still feasible but the cook times are slow.

I've attached screenshots to demonstrate the setup, i can provide the scene also, this is just personal student work.
